@cosplayeye Thank you for your feedback. We will be addressing the space and time issues for next year, and hoping that we do manage to extend our schedule. Just to clarify so that we know how to address the issue: at what specific area within the convention hall did the "pushing and crashing" of the crowd occur?

On #1 of your original post: We're sorry that you've experienced such unpleasantness in the con. Could you cite specific instances of what happened so that we can advise others in the future, if possible?

#8: No, it wasn't a gay event, but it wasn't a het event, either. It's an anime and music convention, open to everyone from all walks of life, with sexual orientations. Furthermore, while I cannot speak for the cosplayers themselves, I do not see how two males kissing affects the integrity of their characters especially since Hard Gay's name already implies that some degree of gayness, so to speak, is already part of the character.

Also, could you please clarify the statement "ANG DIKO MA GET'S AY BAKIT MAY AMBIENCE OR PRESENCE NG ESTADO SA BUHAY"? I'm not sure what you mean by this, apart from heidzee's proposed interpretation.

With regards to my first post here. If all of you will say shinzen Is GREAT then who will know about the not so great side. You see if this will not be solved while it is not yet worse, are we going to wait for it to become worse. May be if the host where like of Ozine Fest wherein they are mature enough to say "BEHAVE GUYS" then maybe people would not be pushing and crashing at each other.

I can understand all the flaws since it's just the first Shizen. But this is the best Cosplay Convention I've been to. Mainly because of HardGay's darn great hosting, and secondly, because you got Alodia and Ashley to be the Judges. My wife was especially happy with one of the stalls that sold items for 20 Pesos each.. (i bought a cute chibi Roy Mustang keychain for just 20!) Hehe.. and my Brother was so more than pleased with the Maid/Butler cafe (even if he had to wait a few hours). Overall, Omedetto Gozaimasu!! We'll surely be there next year. Gambatte yo!

I was more than bit disappointed about how the fashion design contest was conducted. It could do with a lot of improvement for next time. I wasn't even sure who judged it and such. That's all... otherwise, it was successful, true.

@shidrael Thanks for choosing Shizen as your group debut con! We hope to see you again next year. :D
shizenorchestra wrote on Apr 29, '09
@june024 Thanks! ^^ We aren't able to accommodate that many cosplayers though [200+ indiv cosplay and 18 cosplay groubs] because of a) time constrictions, and b) Shizen's overall theme is different from Ozine Fest's. We do, however, have something new in mind, which we'll be posting about soon.

And hindi kakayanin ng isa pang Shizen this year. xD Next year pa.

@cosplayeye: ozine? mas maganda nung ozine? really now...
sana inanounce nila yung winner or winners sa ibang contest...kasi hanggang ngayn wala pa silang inanounce... never silang sumagot sa Yahoo messenger nila... at laging sira ang site nila, which is dapat source ng info...
hindi lang naman dito sa shizen ang delayed ang scheds ah... actually sa lahat ng conventions late ang scheds nila. pls..suggest lang think before saying anything... SUGGEST LANG.

thanks shizen for assistance BEFORE and DURING the event!
im looking forward in your next event!

Yay! On behalf of Liminal Project (a.k.a. "Spartapons"), we thanks you all!
My groupmates really had a great time, and most of them had their 1st cosplay experience in this event. This event's going to be memorable to them XD

Well... We did enjoy the event... Kahit ndi ganun kadami like Ozine [*ahem 200+ cosplayers & 18 cosplay groups] maganda naman ang kinalabasan... Maganda rin ung place since it was big enough to accompany ung dami ng nagpunta... Sana nga magkaroon pa ng isa pang Shizen before this year ends... [Much like we want another Ozine before this year ends as well...] Shizen Encore anyone? ^^

To everyone, thank you for your comments, suggestions and constructive criticisms. I'm part of the organizers and rest assured na icoconsider namin yung mga issues and concerns na sinabi nyo for the next con. :)

I would just like to point out a few things from one of the comments.
@cosplayeye:

#1,2&4 Sorry if you encountered some unfriendly people at the event, pero wala kaming control sa ugali ng mga taong pumapasok sa event. Maybe you caught them at a bad time, maybe they didn't want to get their pictures taken, marami pang ibang pwedeng dahilan pero bottom line is open for all yung event kaya dapat ready tayong makakita ng mga taong iba-iba yung ugali.
#6 Yun naman talaga yung naka-set na sched namin for this event. Pero sige, tignan natin kung magagawan ng paraan next time. :)
#7 everyone's entitled to their opinion but imo, a lot if not most of the people enjoyed HG hosting
#8 it was an impromptu act - nagulat din kami kasi hindi namin alam na may gagawin silang ganun. sorry kung naging offensive para sa audience.

~~~
Again thanks to everyone for commenting! :)
